The Many faces of Andy - 20th Europeans Birmingham

Midseasonpsycho 163

(No European on the tournament list so a Nationals will have to do for now!)

This is my own Andy build which took me to 20th out of 227 at the European Tournament in Birmingham. My other deck was Moon HB which I have also published.

Its the many faces of Andy as Rebirth is just so good in this deck. However I cant remember how I used it in every game but i’m sure I did!!

Round 1 - Verses PU, player installed loads of cards face down, I rebirthed into Silhouette to check them trashing the bio ethics. Used Interdiction so he couldn't rez the Hostile Infrastructures. Saw a Future Perfect for the win and lost 3 Psi games so couldn't steal. Next turn Siphoned him for 2 credits and leg worked to find the Future Perfect but found a Fetal and House of Knifes instead! That will do! - WIN

Round 2 - Verses Sol, this was a horrible march up, Scarcity of Resources made lots of my resources too expenses to use (paying 6 to draw 6 cards doesn't feel good). I got Interdiction down and installed Temujin, Daily Cast and Kati but it was just too little too late. - LOSE

Round 3 - Verses CI, quickest game of the day. Player credit, credit, Violet Level Clearance. I Siphon, Siphon, install Earthrise and something else. Player clicks for 3 credits to keep 3 cards. I legwork stealing 2 agendas and mad dash Archives for about another 7 points +. WIN

Round 4 - Verses Glacier ETF, go all the way to Birmingham to play in a European Tournament and I end up playing my house mate!! We have practiced lots together and he knew my deck well. We both monied up but he did not score until he had more than enough for scoring and all ice, close game but a lose for me. LOSE

Round 5 - Verses Skorpios, This is an interesting matchup as I don't have much in the way of backups. Last round of the day and I got greedy as I liked my chances, stole a 1 pointer losing my paperclip. Drew like a mad man to find Mammon and Film Critic and Rebirthed into Leela to help with the ice, but got greedy again and legworked into HQ hitting a Grim and losing Mammon. Locked out! LOSE.

End of day 1, 6-4 so scraped through to day 2.

Round 6 - Verses Sync, Got Aaron and Plascrete out early, he scored a Breaking News so I rebirth into Iain Stirling and sat back a little setting up with Temujin, Daily Casts and 2 credits at the start of my turns I paid through every trace and medium dug and sneakdoor for the win. WIN

Round 7 - Verses Glacier ETF, as I have played this matchup a lot verses my house mate I liked my odds. He installed loads of ice, 3 deep everywhere but I didn't run, he went low on credits once, I took this window and Siphoned twice and started hitting R&D with Medium and cleared out his scoring remote. Rebithed into Steve Cambridge to get my Siphons back, rinse and repeat! WIN.

Round 8 - Verses Dave Hoyland with Moon ETF, this was a funny game for us both, he drew all his ice, all his operations and some assets. I drew no money, no programs but everything else. Ran the hand lots seeing nothing and R&D was too expensive as i had not seen a Temujin. Eventually I lost but not surprised. LOSE

Round 9 - Verses Ben Ni with Sol, (lucky me 2 great players in a row). My opening hand was poor but had 2 Aarons so I had to keep it. He used Targeting Marketing turn 1 and named Temujin I installed Medium and Aaron turn 1 and ran twice seeing boom but having no money!! (this is nearly always a bad play but they were the best i had really). Found Plascrete very shortly after, Interdiction to use Temujin and rebirth into Leela to keep the pressure on. He tried to score out behind something but I drew my inside job to take it. Legworked the hand to steal Astro and trash Boom, he concedes as he had no outs. WIN.

Round 10 - Verses Moon ETF, not my best matchup, turn 1 I installed Temujin on R&D and saw Wraparound on top which is the best ice I could have seen, installed Desperado and went twice more. Next turn drew up and Special Ordered Paperclip trashing it then moneyed up again the following turns when he rezed the Wraparound. With Desperado I could check all the remotes and trash some things for free or at least make money seeing them. Siphoned a few times (May have rebirth into Steve, can’t remember). I had so much money but no breakers I installed Mammon then next turn I put 6 counters on it and used Indexing paying another 6 to break Fairchild 3 and still had more than enough to Mad Dash back in for the final points. WIN.

Ended the second day 13-7 in total, Runner losing 4 games.

This is a strong good deck with a easy game plan, get money, get in, steal agendas, Rebirth. Rebirth is great in criminal as you can get an answer for any stage of the game depending when you find it. If I got it in my opening hand I hardly ever used it straight away, I wanted to see where the game went.

It was a fantastic tournament and I am so happy with my deck box.

I have also posted my Coup deck.
