Kate - The best runs in life are free

Butler223 70

OVERVIEW This deck began life as an attempt to make Replicator useful. I decided on building a deck around the "Rec-Cred Hardware" - Lockpick, Silencer and Cyberfeeder. The Toolbox and Cloak had to go in, to play to the theme, and yge deck came to life.

ECONOMY 3x Sure Gamble 3x Armatige Codebusting Aesop's Pawnshop Many recurring credits.

Using Mac, the deck has very few major installation expenses - aside from The Toolbox, the worst it has is SMC into Gordian blade for 6cr. Runs are going to be cheap, if not free, with a full build offering me up to 14 rec-cr per turn to throw into them. Normally, I staple Magnum Opus into a shaper deck, but with the above in mind, I decided that Armatige would be enough. Aesop's went in to eat the Replicators and Inside Mans when I was finished with them (and give me that cheeky extra credit from Armatige, if need be).

CARD DRAW 3x Diesel 3x Replicator

Again, the deck is light. In theory, finding one Replicator will help thin the deck of the hardware I don't need, helping me draw cards that I do.

ICEBREAKERS Corroder Gordian Blade Dagger

I'm not 100% sure about this one. To play to the theme of the deck, I wanted icebreakers that can sit on Omni-Drive, which rules out Battering Ram. Only including one of each means I'm relying on SMC, and am vulnerable to damage - which is why Clone Chip went in. Deus X features, but mostly for its Net Damage protection.

SUPPORT 3x Inside Man 3x Clone Chip 3x R&D interface Levy AR Lab Access

Clone Chip has already been discussed briefly - but it also helps with multi-SMC uses, as well as helping shift icebreakers onto Omni-Drive. Inside Man I'm not sure of - while I have fist fulls of hardware to lay down, Mac is great at getting it done herself. At the very least, he's Aesop food. R&D Interface seems staple. Its hardware, and it helps me make minimal runs on R&D (potentially only needing a run every few turns), allowing me to more comfortably hit HQ or remotes.

FINAL THOUGHTS The deck may suffer against Net damage decks, or Weyland Cleaner decks - Plascrete carapace could go in (more hardware!). The lower scale icebreakers may suffer against heavier ice, but with so many Rec-Creds, it'll hopefully still be cheap on the "real' credit cost. I worry the economy is a little TOO light. Testing will tell.

I would ditch Omni-Drive for a good old Aka Mem Chip. Omni-Drive looks great on paper, but without scavenge or a hardware tutor (which is bound to be released someday) you are too dependent on your draws to make it useful. Mac even makes it free for your to install.

With only 3 tutors and a one off of every icebreaker I also get the feeling you will be digging a long time to get all your breakers and econ might be a little too slow.

How I would do it: -3 Inside man, -3 Omni-Drive, +2 Kati, +3 Mem Chip. Maybe: -1 Lockpick, -1 Replicator (you only need 2 on the table and once you have one you can easily get the other), -1 R&D Interface, +3 Test Runs (also great to get back trashed programs in case you have no clone chips anymore).

I would probably also try to fit in another toolbox. For recurring cred theme decks, those things are great.

My 2 cents,

Cheers

I'm thinking that if I went to mem chip (wgich id love [more hardware! ]) I'd switch to battering ram, and include a second copy of each breaker. I'm thinking that the Omni isn't so much relied on as useful - I can easily clone chip a program back up. I'm not a huge fan of Katie (a bit too slow),.nor test run for the same reason. In theory I only need a single replicator - inclusing three is all about finding it early. The others can be Aesop food. Another Toolbox would be devine, however I'm let down by my single core set :(

Atman becomes what she thinks for a surprisingly low contract fee in this deck. Clone Chip will make her rethink it twice if needed.
