[VSC3] Upgrade FA

linduxed 9

How to play

  • Your ID ability will let you return key cards from the Archives server, which often will be your fast-advance tools, i.e. Seamless Launch and Biotic Labor, allowing you to keep scoring agendas without much interaction from the Runner. The ID ability is flexible, however, so if something in Archives could help you in your situation after scoring an agenda, return it to your hand!
  • The deck has some very strong ICE and very strong upgrades, so if you have the money for rezzing all (or most) of your cards, then the Runner will have a very difficult time breaking into your servers. If possible, try to have one server where you have Nico Campaign giving you credits, and a second server for continuously scoring agendas.
  • Vovô Ozetti, if well placed and strategically moved around, will save you a good amount of money, and will enable you to rez your expensive ICE. The second ability (activates on Threat 4) will save you money for Nico Campaign and Manegarm Skunkworks, but this is not the main use of Vovô Ozetti. Try to make the most of Vovô Ozetti's movement ability!
  • Spin Doctor is very powerful! He'll allow you to draw some extra cards, but even more importantly he'll protect Archives, since the ability can be fired just as the Runner would be breaking into Archives or to the server where Spin Doctor is located. This means that you can have up to 2 agendas in Archives, without the Runner having a good way to steal them, as Spin Doctor can be triggered at any time to shuffle them into R&D.

About [VSC]

The [VSC] decks are versioned collections of decks that are all built for a particular physical card pool:

  • 2 x System Gateway
  • 2 x System Update 2021
  • 2 x Parhelion
  • 2 x The Automata Initiative

Full list of cards: NRDB search for the card pool

Therefore, each iteration of the [VSC] decks (this being the third iteration, first published) comes as a collection of decks, to ensure that one can actually build all the decks with the physical card pool.

This particular iteration of [VSC] was going to be used for a "Learn to play Netrunner" event. Therefore, some choices were made to have the decks be on the side of beginner friendliness, or at least avoiding NPE cards/combos. It was also fine if the decks were not tournament material. In fact, if the decks were a bit weaker, but showcase the character of a faction then that was actually better.
