It's Not a BiG Deal

Silent Arbiter 479

Hi everyone! I've played this deck for the last 3 days on jinteki and wanted to share with you my thoughts about it to make it even more competitive and maybe a little bit funnier to play against (nah, hell nah, we are not here to make other players have fun right?)

ATTENTION: We DON'T WANT a remote. Ever. We are a centrals glacier.

The main plan is simple. The runner doesn't run? we win scoring 4 points from hand with the classic Regenesis + Big Deal and we treat the win with the second Big Deal + agenda. The runner does run? welp he is facing Nanisivik Grid + whatever we might have in archives. And generally is either 3 net damages or an end the run + trash a resource.

Anyway, let's get right into the cards choices.

Agendas

Kinda standard for RH, was considering the new 2/1 but nah, we don't need those here.

Assets

Spin Doctor is a must here. We need to be able to shuffle back everything we don't want to be in archives. the draw 2 is something we use a lot to get to 6 cards and let our ID proc eot.

Snare! is able to win us games from r&d and from hand after a forced run into a Bathynomus or an anemone unrezzed.

Operations

Here we have the core of the deck. The wincon in the form of Big Deal, the recover given by Genotyping and all the economy we wish for. We need to rez ices and to play our wincon aswell so we usually need to be around 30credits, which trust me, is not unusual in this deck. Spin Doctor main target are our econ cards.

Upgrades

1x Anoetic Void which as performed incredibly well till now, might consider a second one.

1x Mavirus here to remove unwanted Clot coming back with Simulchip. Be sure to have at least 20 credits when you want to score the regenesis against a shaper with clot in the heap and a simulchip in play. If there are 2 simulchip, install the regenesis as second click and ask for action. if they do use the simulchip just overwrite the regenesis with a spin or a snare and spend the next turn to purge. You have many ways to recover that regenesis.

3x Nanisivik Grid. That's the card this deck was looking desperately for. And it finally cames. THIS win us the games. When they come to trash it, and they will, be sure to have the right punishment in archive to answer. Make it worth, always.

Ices

Anansi, Anemone, DNA Tracker --> You want to install those bad boys.

Bathynomus is a really good defensive Ice early on for archives, but is even stronger as a Nanisivik Grid target. Use it consciously.

Mlinzi, Vampyronassa, Chiyashi those guys works well either installed and facedown in archives, as for Bathynomus it's up to you considering where they could be better depending on the matchup.

Tithonium is here to be discarded. You NEED it in archives to remove bad resources like Caldera or Find the Truth. It's unexpected and incredibly powerful. IT ENDS THE RUN ASWELL.

Considered Cards

Here we are, to the conclusive part, where I ask you to help me improving this deck. I've lost 1 game on 31 played atm on Jinteki due to the fantastic bug that makes you unable to see the first upgrade when you install another one in archives or in R&D, which forces you to rez it before installing the second one and opening you to unwanted pinhole.

Anyway, we know Jinteki is not the competitive world, so let's face the reality that this deck can be improved and lets try to do it!

  • Kakurenbo might be a well included card. It allows you to have all your ices able to fire again on Nani, it might recover you a Spin, could bait an agenda with a Snare and so on. The strongest part is obviously the "turn all cards in archives facedown" which is something so powerful for us. But i don't find it really well performing without NGOs. So we might consider to include them both, but we have to consider what to cut out.

  • Ivik could be a good alternative to the Chiyashi, sinse we are playing a few of good codegates and it can fire 2 net aswell from archives but idk.

  • Simulation Reset might be a good include, I just find Genotyping so much stronger sinse we are going for late and we don't want to lose due to mill. Genotyping gives us 2 cards back, simulation does not. On the other hand, it allows us to set the Regenesis for the following turn, to get ices we want in archives faster and is a good way to see new cards so I'm still not so sure about leaving it in the card binder.

And that's all from me. In this meta full runners able to bypass ices like they were butter (ye I love the Turbine, don't get me wrong, but it makes anansi look like it is a rezzed anemone) I think I might have found the right faction to play glacier. Hope you guys might want to give this deck a try and give me some feedbacks!

Cheers, your Silent hated corps decks provider <3

I like central only strategy. RH already did it quite well (I used embolus rather than aneotic though), but the addition of Nanisivik Grid...

Pairs well with fantastic banter over jnet.
