Hi there! I've been playing for a couple of months, sharing my partner's cards, but we're into a tournament next week -our first!- and unluckily the core set I ordered is not going to arrive on time.

Thing is I have been forced to create a Runner deck with no Sure Gamble -yeah, I know...- and limited card pool (Creation and Control, Future Proof, Cyber Exodus, What Lies Ahead, Core Set), so any kind of advice or suggestions will be warmly welcomed!

Thank you!

Just from a quick glance at this list, I'd say to think about the following:

  • try to trim down on the cards you only have one copy of; your deck will be more consistent, and thus a bit easier to play.
  • you either need more memory or less programs! You won't be able to install half of what you've got here
  • Your breaker suite is a bit of a jumble - three Killers, two Decoders and two copies of Crypsis!
  • If you don't have Sure Gambles, maybe think about replacing Aesop & ProfCon with a couple of copies of Magnum Opus

Personally, I'd drop the Data Dealer and replace it with another Bank Job; loose the Snitch and Peacock and add another two copies of Same Old Thing (which will help you recur Siphons and Inside Jobs); drop the Infiltrations and go up to three copies of Mr Li (which will be your primary card draw) and add another Nerve Agent for multi-access.

Have you tried out this deck much online? Jinteki.net is a good way to test out deck-building ideas against other players. It's pretty easy to use and most people on there are friendly and willing to give tips to newer players.

Anyway, the most important thing is to have fun at the tournament! Good luck!

@TheseGlyphs First of all, thanks so much for your comment! Unluckily, I don't have copies of Mr Li, Magnus Opus... and since I don't have any recurrent to get programs out of the trash, that's what I decided to put so many... but yeah, I can lose the peacock (that I don't particulary like very much, actually) and a copy of crypsis...

I haven't been able to try it out much cause I was supposed to get a new core set by yesterday -meaning I could have used my Kit and HB deck- but it won't arrive, so I had to make up something on the go with the cards available.

You are absolutely right about the data dealer, and I'm including a second Nerve Agent for sure.

Again, thanks for your help! :)
