Probably the last iteration of the first deck I ever seriously played before Kit rotates. Other (less successful) iterations are here and here.
I took some of the cards from Diogene's Dive Kit / Plongée Profonde decks. I particularly like Harmony AR Therapy for the longer, grindier matchups to give you the last bit of gas you need to cross the finish line.
A problem I've encountered with Kit decks (including Inversificator) is that economy is not interactive enough. I love Telework Contract - it feels amazing to have multiples. But it's slow, and uninteractive, and the corp can run away with the game while you're clicking them. Moving more to run-based econ like Dirty Laundry helps set up Deep Dives and control the board state more.
Harmony AR Therapy is a flexible, if slow, way to rescue breakers. It can also help get back Deep Dives and econ cards. It pairs with Into the Depths for rescuing cards. The other option is Simulchip, but it is a lot less flexible and can't get back Deep Dives. Very spooky to play this deck without a Simulchip, especially into Weyland and SDS Drone Deployment, which is why there's 1x Chip and 2x Harmony.
We could definitely cut the Simulchip for a third Harmony, or some more good cards like a third Burner.
I wasn't sure about Into the Depths, and after playing with it, I think it's a bit too clunky. You're never using the third mode (unless you also include a Cataloguer, and the problem with the second mode is that when you need to get Lobisomem, it's pretty hard to pass ice with just Orca, and if you have Lobisomem, you don't need to urgently find and pay 10c to install Orca. I think the ItD here should be a third Burner or a third Harmony AR Therapy or another Telework Contract.
Stoneship Chart Room? I think this card is just not very good no matter how you slice it.
Sorry Trickster Taka, but I think 1x Pinhole Threading / Tread Lightly and 1x Miss Bones is better here
Compile is ok but the corp can deny it, and it's mostly a dead card after you get your breakers. Test Run feels like really bad value to me, and time spent setting up and trying to find your breakers is usually time well spent. You can use credits now, or later.
I've also thought about Tread Lightly vs Pinhole Threading, and it is my opinion that even though the cards might seem to serve the same purpose, they are not at all equivalent. While I definitely think Tread Lightly is criminally (ha) underrated, I think it and Pinhole Threading do fundamentally different jobs.
Tread Lightly is for holding in your hand in the early game, then assaulting a server with 2+ unrezzed ice all at once. It also does an ok job if you notice the corp is kinda poor and there's only 1 unrezzed ice. However, Pinhole Threading is used to trash high-value assets in heavily defended remotes with rezzed ICE that you've been pressuring throughout the game.
I chose Pinhole here because I find that the Spark Kit is not interactive enough, and needs to apply remote pressure in the early game, even by facechecking without Lobi.
Mulligan for Aniccam or Spark of Inspiration.
It's really useful to have either Hannah "Wheels" Pilintra or DJ Sable before Deep Diving. Being able to steal two agendas if you get lucky is a huge blowout. Don't even think of playing Deep Dive without one of those two against HB decks that are running Ikawah Project. Also, if you can guess the opponent's agenda spread in those matchups, you can calculate your odds of hitting an Ikawah Project.
Install Simulchip if you're playing against Weyland. You can also fight back from losing a breaker using Harmony AR Therapy +Spark of Inspiration, though it's a big tempo hit.
My corp deck was Sokka's BtL Worlds list which I practiced a lot but had bad luck with. It happens.
Thanks tzeentchling for running another great tournament at Games at Berkeley!
