痛みについて (Concerning Pain) v1.0

paddosan 3408

A study of the ways to inflict pain. Net and Brain Damage.

The only non AP ICE are Himitsu-Bako (秘密箱, the box of secrets) and Chum (which still does damage, though). This basically means that naked runs can get really dangerous and the Runner should quickly learn to Run only when he can break or jack out safely.

The only trap is Ronin which I included to have cards other than Agenda that you can advance, and as a possible finisher. (FINISH HIM !!)

Replicating Perfection works very nicely with Bioroids, and obviously with Sundew, which can be a extremely efficient economic engine for Jinteki. Personal Evolution would surely allow for more damage, but I think there's enough in the deck already and economic security is much more needed.

We have yet to see all the cards from True Colors, which should be out next week, but I doubt there's a third for Jinteki and the two we know are quite good for this kind of deck.

This seems solid, I feel like fenris is only a threat in the first few turns, otherwise there are other ETR ice for 2 inf that are better. Since jinteki wants the runner to have lots of brain damage, I would run 3 of them, for better or worse.

In the future Punitive Counterstrike is going to be running jinteki decks, so as much as I love the idea of wasting clicks in RP, I think flatline emphasis will be more appealing.

Punitive Counterstrike will definitely have its appeal for Jinteki, but calls for Personal Evolution, so it would be quite a different deck altogether. I'll probably try that too!

In my personal experience, I always found way more daunting to play against RP, since it's much harder to check stuff, when it takes one more Click and possibly extra credits to break an ICE on the central server. Damage can be somewhat avoided / prevented, with the right cards, but losing Clicks against RP is not an option, but a certainty.

I'm not convinced about Fenris yet, that's why I only added one. I might remove Viktor 2.0 entirely if the big wolf proves interesting. As you said, it could be a threat in early game, and two copies would be much better or I won't ever see it when it could hurt the most. It also has a non-conditional (non bioroid) EtR, so that's another plus... too bad for its very low STR, but that's not a big issue imho.

If I had to go for 3 copies, it might be worth using Clone Retirement instead of GHA or UP maybe, to allow for some BP removal.
