Whizzing through the Keyhole

wilk 18

This is a deck inspired by the recent "Through the Keyhole" builds by HepatitvusJ and the discussion on them. It's just my take on the subject. I tried to make the economy as little click-based as possible. the only concession being the 2 Liberated Accounts, used for ramping up (install, click, click, click). I also prefer Darwin to Crypsis, especially with Surges (which can also boost the Parasites). I may revert to running Djinns to tutor up Darwins and, more importantly, Parasites, but I'm not sure what to take out for them. Anyway, your comments are appreciated.

Regarding econ:

I think it is important not only to think about click/gain ratio of econ cards, but also a total net gain. Sure Gamble is +4, Daily Casts is +5, Drirty Laundry is +3. On the other hand Armitage is +11, Liberated is +10. Even if they are less efficient, they give you more money - especially when anarchs usually click for cards. When you finally click for econ card, you want big gains from it.

I pretty much hate Daily Casts in anarch, cause they make you even more broke. It is a decent card in decks which are rich anyway. Sure Gamble is auto include I guess for starting hand reasons. I suggest 3xSG 3xArmitage 3xLibereated for your econ engine, it really works and will save you 2 slots for your Djinns.

+♥ for experimenting with Lawyer Up - report back how it worked out for you

Lawyer Up can be very strong, especially as a follow-up to Account Siphon, obviously. Besides, I have the imoression that being tagged is getting more and more dangerous in the current meta. As to the economy, I have thought of what you said on Liberated Accounts and Armitage Codebusting and you may actually be right. My whole experience with Whizzard and Reina were resource denial decks where aggression was key and clicking for credits was generally giving the corp too much breathing space. These decks wanted to run while the corp was unable to rez and simply had no time for much else, that is why I typically ran 3x Daily Casts and 3xDirty Laundry. The mindset of this build is somewhat different, as resource denial is rather absent here (barring the Whizzard ability to trash cards). In the current deck it is actually possible to take some time and prepare for the next attack, gaining some late game in the process. (I generally think that either I am a horrible deck builder, or the Anarch resource denial archetype is not viable in the current meta because it has no reliable late game and tends to run out of steam from mid- to late game, which is especially true for Caissa-heavy builds). All in all, I will test the variant with Armitage and Liberated Accounts playsets and report how it went - thanks for the suggestion!

Sheesh, when will you people learn that Daily Casts is an outright bad card in Anarch? Playing it basically says "I won't be able to pressure you for the next 3 turns if you rez an Enigma", which is a really bad thing to have it do, compared to the awesome money gain of 5 credits over 3 turns.

Thanks for the insightful comments. They helped me a lot, as I tested Armitage, simultaneously increasing the number of Liberated Accounts. It works out fine, which means that I will part with the long-cherished myth of clickless economy in Anarch and post an updated build.

Daily casts helps when you're Wyldsiding, but it's true, if you need immediate cash it's no help.

Daily casts helps when you're Wyldsiding

That's because when you're Wyldsiding, you're usually Aesoping too, and Aesop makes Dailies usable instead of utterly horrible in Anarch. Still though, Daily Casts binds up the money you need to be able to spend in order to fully take advantage of the added card draw, and is eating up your card slots with a card that's completely worthless if you get hit by a Midseason. That's probably the biggest reason why I dislike it so much - it dictates your tempo for you and so robs you of flexibility, which is the Anarchs' biggest strength.
