Eventful Kitty wields a torch and a spoon

Kit deck focused on playing events and destroying ICE. It's testplayed a bit, but doesn't run really well yet. Any suggestions welcome! :)

Early Game

  • Keep starting hands with Test Run, Magnum Opus or the all-beloved Diesel + Sure Gamble starting combo.
  • Test Run out a Torch for easy runs against any single iced server. Kit's ID makes facechecking relatively save. If it can be rezzed for up to 5, Torch can probably break it for ~2. With some exceptions of course.
  • Test Run out a Magnum Opus as your main economy engine.

Mid Game

  • Destroy all the ICE using Spooned (with ID ability), Kraken and Immolation Script. Repeat with Same Old Thing when necessary. (My very first Kit deck actually had 3x Spooned, but I think the Immolation is a nice surprise.)
  • Aim at one big run per turn to maximize the use of the ID ability.
  • Install the first two Prepaid VoicePADs early and you probably won't need the third (though there are some events with 3+ cost, so it may be worth in a long game).
  • Use Pipeline for cheap Sentries or servers with stacked Sentries. Use Deus X and Sharpshooter for single big Sentries. Cry if you see Susanoo. A lot. Install Akamatsu Mem Chip only when you need to run Pipeline and the disposable breakers parallel.

Since you have 3x Test Run, Scavenge would be a great way to permanently install SMC or torch without the tempo hit.

Seems like MU might be problematic (limiting your ability to have a partial rig + mopus + SMC), how have you found it? I guess you can probably go a pretty long time without astrolabe/mem chip since an early torch will get you through basically all single iced servers without too much bread.

So far I didn't run into severe MU problems. As you said, I don't Need a full rig early on, Torch gets me in anywhere.

I'm not sure about Scavenge... I have no other use for it than to combo it with Test Run. No rehosting or refreshing of Tokens needed with that rig. So I guess it's a dead draw as soon as both Mopus and Torch are installed and I aim to install them both early.
But I do have problems installing those two. They're expensive. So maybe it's worth a shot.

Sure, makes sense. While it is mainly a dead draw after torch + mopus are up, it has the advantages early on of:

  1. Discounted install of torch/mopus
  2. 1 fewer click for permanent installation than test run -> draw -> install

And when your rig is up, can still be handy to either repurpose unused breakers you installed early or to bring back deus ex / sharpshooter for problem situations.

Will be curious to see how this deck develops, seems like fun and doesn't try to be too gimmicky with Kit.

I agree about Scavenge. It’s almost a must have.(IMHO)

My thoughts – not hatin’, just sayin’ =)

I find the use of Immolation Script a bit much. That 3 influence could be used better elsewhere. (ICE breakers! – Corroder, GS Shrike M2, Mimic & etc… or another Spooned or multi-access)

I’m a fan of Employee Strike, but that’s another 1 influence I think could be better elsewhere. Personally, I’m not a fan of a lot of 1x event cards either of which you have five.

Summary / changes = -1 x of all the following Immolation Script, Employee Strike, Pipeline, Snowball, Kraken, Escher, Quality Time

+3x Scavenge, and +1x of each of these - Cerberus "Lady" H1, Mimic, Self-modifying Code, Spooned.

@lroach2 I like your suggestions. With Scavenge as a 3-of I see it early enough to use it in combo with Test Run and with Lady as a fracter I still have use for the copies I find later.

Escher has won me a game. But I guess without Pipeline, Battering Ram or Snowball there's not much synergy left, so I might as well get rid of it.

The idea of the 1-of events was that with enough draw power and 3 SoTs I would have a lot of choices for playing events. But in practice it was very inconsistent.

I'll definetly test your version.

@lroach2 I have played some games with the changes you suggested and it's just awesome!
The deck runs a lot better now. With the Test Run+Scavenge combo paying for Torch my biggest tempo hit is gone and I can put up accession and ICE destruction pressure really fast.
One game, I recovered from dropping to 0 by using my PPVP money to testscavenge out a Mopus to enable cash flow.
