Soak up the Sun

Castings 13

I wanted to give the Blue Sun identity a try, and came up with this. This deck is focused on meat damage for the kill.

Amazon Industrial zone is used to rez ice at a discount so it can then be pulled back into HQ for credits each turn. Alternately, I am hoping to Oversight AI a Curtain Wall or Hadrian's Wall and get a net of 9+ credits.

Cerebral Cast is used to scare the runner into taking a brain damage or risk a scorched (which a real threat).

If the runner does manage to steal an agenda, Punitive Counterstrike is there to make them regret it. In the right circumstance Punitive + Private Security Force could be enough to win the game.

Data Raven, Draco, and Shadow are all used to keep the runner scared of getting tagged for the same reason. Draco and Shadow were chosen because they can be pumped high enough that it becomes expensive for the runner to break the subroutine, which allows the trace option.

Swordsman is to deal with Overmind/Atman decks. Of limited use beyond that, but cheap to rez and potentially fodder for the identity ability.

Why use cerebral cast over sea source? Doesn't your ability to pull any rezzed Curtain Wall or Hadrian's Wall up at will to boost your credits make sea source much scarier than Cerebral Cast where you have no guarantee of a tag.

Not sure about Ice Wall and Dracō. Seems to me Draco is great in NBN:MN but power counters and advancement counters can't be refunded by Blue Sun so those ice are going to be limited if you choose to advance/power counter them. Neither can be used to make money via Amazon Industrial Zone either since their cost is

less than 3 credits.

With massive ice like Curtain Wall and Hadrian's Wall, the latter of which is advance-able and the ability to pull up ice with parasites on them I don't see that Atman decks are a worry, so I'd be inclined to save the influence used on Swordsman.

Government Contracts might be better than the cleaners if you are going to run 3 pointers. Install big ice on Amazon and then double click for 4 credits for a total of 7 credits for the turn is pretty crazy money and should win you the game just as easily as a bit of extra meat damage. Likewise I'd use Project Atlas as a substitute for Private Security Force. If you are able to score a 4/2 PSF, overscoring an atlas to get a card at will (like a scorched or sea source) is going to be better, and if you can't score a 4/2 then you may still be able to sneak through a 3/2 Atlas, PSF + the Cleaners requires you to have scored 5 points already so if you can do that then you have pretty much won the game, it won't help turn around a game you're already losing.
