The goal here was standard Devil Crew 'mulch: trash ice to tax the corp.
In testing, aggressive early running and trashing worked well if I drew the right cards (tale as old as time) but the deck ground to a halt late game if I couldn't trash ice fast enough. Enter Simulchip---our friends over in Shaper space know what's up. Virus runners overwrite programs pretty frequently once the counters are spent, so if everything going well, we use the chip to pull Imp back or something; if the corp's layering up, we can whip out those icebreakers that we trashed early game.
I got a bye, then lost two games:
At least people could tell what I was trying to do. Still learning 😅
Everyone was super cool and I only felt a little intimidated at my first card tournament in a decade. I hope to make it to another event or meetup soon!
