The Marvelous Orange Tree (1st @ NYC Districts)

NotAgain 1899

The successor to my previous hoshiko list.

As I played more, I noticed that I needed to play faster to keep up with some of the faster corps. Slower corps were never a problem as early aggression melts those anyway. Sitting back making credits and setting up for the lategame is the most boring form of netrunner for me. This deck is the complete opposite. You want to be as aggressive as possible. Pressure everything every turn and something will give in. You have all the tools you need to do so.

I continue with my philosophy of recursion is cringe and you do not need it. There is no one specific card, including breakers that you need. Bankhar and boomerang get you through it all so you should get comfortable trashing every single card in your deck, including DJ. Yes, I am playing one DJ simply to price more freely but more importantly, it acts as bait for corps to overextend on HQ, letting you stargate more freely.

Card Choices

  • I love Stargate, it is an amazing pressure tool against every single corp deck.
  • Mimic over 2nd echelon is a choice for drafter decks, an early way to break them for cheap is crucial against HB matchups.
  • As I mentioned earlier, The Price allows you to play faster, finding what you need and quicker and installing something all at the same time. This also meant that event economy from my previous list needed to be cut down in favor of more installable economy.
  • I also love Maw. People have been playing Keiko over it because they find it too expensive to install. They're not wrong but I don't really care, Maw wins games and sorting out your econ to play it reliably is on you.

If you want to play an aggressive list, this is the one. Any tips to play are unchanged from the ones in the linked list. All you need is good fundamentals and some luck.

Deck name inspired from this.

Hell yeah, this deck rocks! How many Stargate mills did you get over the day?
