Matchpoint 3

gravity 24

Just-for-fun combo deck. Basically, it's an engine that tries to grab 3 agenda points ASAP. After that, getting off a triple Shipment on a Beale with a final advance for 4 points will be the main objective. There is no plan B.

It's a one trick pony and, as such, I don't expect it to be any good. But who knows, maybe this could be a fun T2 deck in the works.

Agenda Setup is kinda iffy at the moment. I'd rather run 12 pieces (3x Gila, 3x Breaking News) for more flexibility, but I'm inclined to try out the -rather lackluster- Exec retreats for now.

Interesting for sure. It really is too bad you need that extra advancement in order to make the Beale a 5. Well, if you scored an Astro it isn't a problem, but if not you have to go

  • Turn 1—?, ?, Install Beale
  • Turn 2—Power Shutdown, Accelerated Diagnostics, Advance Beale

which I guess you might not be able to do at that point in the game. Moreover, scoring 3 agenda points is obviously sort of bothersome with that makeup. Breaking News would, as you note, be nice. But what to take out? What to take out ...

Also, what are the SanSans for in this deck? Getting those first 3 points? Trash-baits?

I love the city grid when playing corp, because of the pressure it exerts. Their purpose is bound to the first three points, which -I guess- made more sense in the original sketch: 3x Gila, 3x Breaking News, which made everything easy to score off-hand.

Assuming I stick with the Retreats, which I doubt, the Grids could be switched out for something else. But I'm not sure what this one trick pony lacks atm.
