Downtown Deb earns credits when you play run's, and can spend those credits during her own “pseudo-basic” run any server
ability.
Compare: Ken "Express" Tenma: Disappeared Clone, crossed with a Trickster Taka or Fencer Fueno.
For example, if Ken installs Deb, you'll earn $2
a turn by playing a run event and then “Debbie-running”.
EDIT: Design-wise, Debbie’s Whenever …, place 1[$] on this.
trigger (differing from Ken’s The first time each turn …, gain 1[$].
) alongside her [click]: … spend hosted credits …
action (similar to Pennyshaver’s [click]: … take hosted credits …
) does two main things:
- Lets a trigger be unlimited without being unbalanced (like Desperado was): You might play three run events in a turn, but those three hosted credits aren't spendable until you first spend a click. But, you still get rewarded for playing as many run events as you can (not just "enough to play one run event a turn on almost every turn").
- Sets up an interesting tension: The longer you wait to “withdraw”, the more efficient the “withdrawal” becomes. But the longer you wait, the more “unsubsidized” basic-runs you might be doing; and for a resource (unlike a hardware), the more vulnerable those credits get.
I really like this.
Synergies (here's some standard-legal criminal/neutral run-events):
