[Startup] Big Turn PE

HolyMackerel 1495

Thousand cuts PE is boring. Let's make it... bigger?

This deck plays with the fork of Punitive Counterstrike and Neurospike, aiming to murder runners in surprisingly efficient fashion. Shooting runners has never been more efficient :)

Why PE?

The one extra damage does often push you over the edge. You're trying to shoot the runner all in one fell swoop, and every point of damage matters in a world of Steelskin Scarring and LilyPADs. Plus, runners start playing really cautiously when you flip this ID, affording you a bit of setup time just because of the psychological warfare.

Why now?

This fork has been legal for a while. But we were missing a few crucial pieces that have been afforded us by the Automata Initiative.

Fujii Asset Retrieval is unquestionably the agenda we were missing. It's a one-card kill with Neurospike when you score it, and can set up the Punitive if it's stolen. Seriously. Every time you see this agenda, you're doing great and should feel great.

Mindscaping is another economy operation that gets us tempo without revealing our plan like Celebrity Gift does. Between this, Hansei, and Hedge Fund, we can gain bursts of cash and cards that let us stay ahead.

Tatu-Bola is the gearcheck we were missing, that also gains us cash for the Punitive kill when the gearcheck is cleared.

The defensive Upgrade gals help set up the Punitive Kill, or can be that crucial last point of damage. Neural EMP, how we miss you. We'll take what we can get at this point.

Y u no Spin Doctor?

Jackson Junior is very strong, just not here. We're not trying to tax runners by running into servers, and Sprint digs deeper into our deck without needing to jump through the hoops of discarding at the end of turn.

That said, it's but the first iteration of the deck, and I'm always open to new ideas. Cheers, and may your runners be forever fried.

Loving this deck. Feels kind of unfair to the runner alot of the time haha. I went 3-1 with it against my buddy, interested to try against some different runners now.

I was building something similar, and then run against this exact deck and "saw the light" ... and the stars! Damn how much it hurt :D

@HolyMackerel could you explain the strategy behind the ICE choice, and their ideal use? :)
