PE: Never Advance Flatline

Chimpster 484

Work in progress concept, currently missing Jackson and tempted to try and find room for Psychic field as well. Could probably do with another piece of ice but would involve dropping neural emps I think.

Basic concept is that you can punish runners who are aggressive against your remotes as much as runners who aren't, either sneak out agendas, use melange or hit them hard for 2-3 brain damage with edge of world. 3 neural emps to punish central aggression and cerebral cast and scorched to punish tags heavily.

Big weakness is heavy R&D assault, trashing all the traps will be a huge problem.

Any thoughts before I test it folks?

Jackson is really a must include. People assume Scorch once they see the first Cerebral Cast (which isn't reliable) and will take the brain. I would ditch 1x Scorched, put in a Closed Accounts to also punish tags, which would let you keep the 2x Archer.

Aye, dropping a scorched is probably the right call. I would rather they take the brain damage most of the time I suppose, scorched is there to hit after snare more than anything else.

I know I need to find room for Jackson, it's just a question of what to drop, having a hard time getting it all in (which probably means I'm trying too much!).

-2 Edge of World -1 Scorched

+3 Jackson

And go from there.

Id probably drop the Melange as it trashes so well from both RD and HQ. If you really need the coins - there might be better alternatives, but maybe you would be interested in swapping out House of Knives for Profiteering and then forget about any money problems, even though then the ice is no longer used for taxing on runs, but to simply ask to find breakers, which I guess is not what you are going for.

Either way, there are other alternatives for credits - far better than Melange imo. So id start cutting there.

@Chimpster in tooling around with my Nisei Division deck I decided that Cerebral Cast required too much support - either tag punishment (Scorched Earth or Closed Accounts were the two under consideration) or ways to try and sink the brain damage in even harder. I ended up dropping them. You could do the same to fit in the Psychic Fields, which I think will work in the Never Advance concept better.

This then frees up two slots for Jackson Howard by removing the Scorched Earths.

Guessing that scoring one of the Fetal AI is not terribly on the cards much in this scheme of things, though it is probably quite doable behind a Komainu of they're not able to get a breaker or Parasite in time. I've watched in bemused amusement as an opponent dumped cards from hand to minimise the number of subroutines it gets only to flatline on the Fetal after pushing on through on the cheap (House of Knives is awesome here ;-))

I'd also probably swap the Chum for Inazuma, too.

Come to the same conclusions @ODie , it does require too much deck space and also for it to come up at the right times.

Psychic fields are amazing in a deck with emps so I've swapped the edge of world's out for those as well.

Still need to find room for a bit more economy I feel, profiteering would be nice but house of knives makes up a huge threat here. Dropping the clone retirements for house of knives really weakens my chances of scoring out though.

It's taking shape eventually! :p
